The 2023 celebration of the publication of Shakespeare’s First Folio concludes with a production inspired by Orson Welles movie of Falstaff, Chimes At Midnight.
This panorama of the end of an era in England tells of the young Prince Hal and his route to being the King of England.
Adapting the Henry 1V plays, Welles also drew on Henry V and The Merry Wives of Windsor.
As we question the future of Monarchy and the lives of our young Royals, the plays have a timely resonance. Stewart McGill directs with an ensemble cast spanning roles from Court to Tavern to Battlefield.
Surrounding the production will be Talks, Displays and Fringe events creating an Autumn mini-Festival for Warwick.
