THE COUNTRY WIFE by William Wycherley & PLAYHOUSE CREATURES

The Country Wife, William Wycherley’s provocative and witty Restoration comedy is a sharp, fast-paced satire explores themes of lust, deception, and the social intrigues of the upper class, as city and country collide in a whirlwind of scandal and hilarity.
Playhouse Creatures by April de Angelis – it’s 1663 and Charles II reopens the playhouses and , for the first time, allows women to take to the stage. This vivacious comedy takes us backstage in a restoration playhouse to celebrate a bold moment in the history of modern theatre. Telling the story with comedy, theatrical flair and emotional poignancy, Playhouse Creatures will make you laugh and cry in equal measures.

This summer, join Playbox Theatre’s Young Production Company in an extraordinary new adventure: Funambulo — a dazzling, original play inspired by Quentin Blake’s Angelo, written for Playbox by Izzie James.
Funambulo takes you into the magical world of the Luminara — a family of gifted circus performers who travel from town to town, lighting up piazzas with their mesmerizing acts. At the heart of their show is Funambulo, a fearless tightrope walker whose balance and bravery leave crowds speechless. But just as their fame grows, a shadow threatens to end their starlit journey, and this circus family must face a greater challenge than ever before…

Open to members of Playbox Theatre’s MUSICAL THEATRE and ACTING workshops. Auditionees must be available to attend every required rehearsal and performance date.

This rock musical phenomenon bursts to life with dynamic energy, stunning choreography, and a soundtrack that changed music forever. Follow Tommy’s journey through adversity to triumph in a spectacular staging that will leave you breathless.
Playbox are looking for confident SINGERS, DANCERS and ACTORS to bring to life this electrifying rock musical.
NOTE: There is a separate audition for those wishing to be considered for the central role of Young Tommy. This is open to strong singers both boys and girls with a playing age of 7 & 11.
Material will be needed to be prepared in advance of the audition.
